Was my quote fair?

That's the whole reason PaidWhat exists. Email us the estimate your vet gave you — tell us your pet and city below, hit the button, attach the quote in your mail app, and send. We'll check it against what pet owners actually paid for the same procedure and reply with a straight verdict.

And if we don't have enough paid bills yet to give you an honest answer, we'll say so — then check back in once we do. A verdict is only honest once 5+ real bills back it up.

A quote can be interrogated long before it can be checked. Until the data arrives:

• Ask for it itemized. A single "surgery: $3,800" line hides everything. Itemized lines can be questioned one by one.
• Ask what's fixed vs. what could move. "Which of these lines could change once you're in there?"
• Ask about the range, not the point. "What's the low end if everything goes smoothly, and what pushes it to the high end?"
• Ask about generics and alternatives. Medications especially — the same drug often has a cheaper equivalent.
